OUR PROGRAMS

TREVOR ISHMAEL

With a vast membership in over 100 countries, the JKA is the world’s largest and most prestigious karate organization. Recognized heir to the Shotokan karate tradition, it is the only legal karate entity officially approved by the Japanese government as an association of members Shadan Hojin) for the promotion of karate, and granted a tax-free status. More importantly, the JKA is the preserver of the soul and spirit of the art ofkokufu-bunka karate-do-karate based on the ancient Japanese tradition of Bushido (the way of the samurai). Our mission is to promote this way of karate throughout the world, ensuring that it remains true to the philosophical precepts upon which it was founded.

ABOUT YAMATO KARATE ACADEMY

OUR INSTRUCTOR

Self Defense, Self dicipline, respect, self confidence.

The ability to defend yourself against an assailant is an empowering feeling. Most martial arts use self defense as a cornerstone of the entire program. The precise methods will vary from discipline to discipline, but you can be certain that with regular practice, your child will learn to defend himself in a variety of different ways. Many martial arts schools also teach street-smart techniques to kids to help avoid problems altogether.

BENEFITS FOR KIDS

BENEFITS

You might think that you can just assume that martial arts training is good for your health.  But do you know why?  Martial arts increases your flexibility, balance, hand-eye coordination and your natural strength without weights.  It is great for adults and for kids fitness.  Building strength without weights means you decrease the risk of injury.  Karate uses principles of isometrics and plyometrics to increase natural strength and power.  The long term health benefits of a proper karate program is immeasurable.  It is not uncommon to see excellent karate students practicing well into their 70’s or even their 80’s!
